New Year’s Rituals Everyone should know

Magic Flower” by Ficiek,

There’s all manner of rituals and magic for protection and cleansing in the New Year. There’s some amazing things in tradition that one should consider adding to their practice. My witch sister (as in my actual sister) has been practicing magic here with me. Preparing for the New Year’s as well. These traditions come from different groups.

So let’s take a look at some of the stuff to do.

Flowering or Blooming Cleansing

Magic Flower” by ImaniBlake

Also known as a Growth Cleansing or a New Year’s Bath, this is a bath with flowers. It opens up the spiritual channels in a person’s body. This is to allow them to release negative or unnecessary energy. While also allowing good energy to enter. The following is a formula we use in Spanish folk magic.

One prescribed by mediums for the new year.

Ingredients :

Note* ingredients must be natural and freshly harvested

1) 5 Sunflower petals

2) 5 Red rose petals

3) 5 White rose petals

4) 5 Pink rose petals

5) 1 Rue branch

6) 5 Jasmine branches

7) 2 yellow candles

8) 2 Rosemary branches

9) 5 Daisy petals

Instructions :

To start doing the bath, heat six liters of water in a pot or saucepan. You’ll have to leave the water heating about 10-20 minutes. Until it starts to boil. Once bubbles begin to appear in the water it means that it has reached the ideal temperature. Remove the pot from the heat and carefully put all the materials in the water.

Once this is done, place the pot back to heat. But this time you only raise the temperature a bit and stir the materials. After another 15 minutes, put the pot to cool. When the water cools put it in the bathtub with the other ingredients. If that water is not enough to bathe, you can put a little more water without any problem.

Essentially the water you prepared, will bless and charge the regular water.

Once everything is ready, light the two yellow candles and take a bathe. Imagine yourself illuminated by the energies of the flowers. Allow the souls of those flowers to enter you. All things are alive. And when you bathe in flowers, the souls of those beings enter you.

So this isn’t just a normal cleansing. It’s a soul cleansing. It washes through you and over you by using pure souls. Those of the flowers themselves. That’s how this works.

Embrace them. Feel the negative energy disintegrate inside you. And then be flushed out naturally from your energy pathways. Allow the calm, nourishing, energy to enter your pathways. Feeding them.

Renewing them. Once you finish the bath, dry with a white towel. This is because white is a color associated with purity. If you have a special color that empowers you, you can use that instead. Then do a regular shower.

And scrub with soap as you normally would.

As my Druid Master recently told me : in our tradition, any form of washing with water is a cleansing. And this is true in more ways than one. In Jewish mysticism, it’s said that water loves bad or impure things. It was made that way by God to absorb the impurity out of things and people. That’s why most cleansings use water as a basic ingredient.

How my sister does it

My sister’s special batch

My sister uses the same traditional flowering formula as described above. The only difference is that she uses Christian Magic to empower it further. In conjunction with the new moon prior to the new year. She also used my balcony shrine which is filled with various plants and astrological idols to empower it. She also adds a few secret ingredients to make hers stronger.

She also added some power to it from a portable altar she brought with her.

But because they are a secret taught to her by her teacher, I can’t reveal that. What I will say is that she combines it with Catholic Masses. She does a mini mass in the bathroom with a specific Gregorian chant playing on her phone. The combination of the potion with the holy music adds to the power of the cleansing. She uses special rites associated with the Catholic Church.

As well as the new moon, and Saints to empower the water. New moons are good for new beginnings.

How I do it

Inle as a Goddess

I do it also not only with Christian Magic but with Santero magic as well. I appeal to Ossian the Orisha of nature and plants, Aroni his faithful servant, and Inle the Orisha of Medicine. I do special Santeria prayers with them. And I charge the potion on my balcony shrine as well. It’s a shrine to both nature and the astrological signs and celestial bodies.

I ask for them to charge it with their powers over night. And once I do this, I leave the potion in a plastic container for the night and allow them to fill it with their Ashe (divine grace). It’s pronounced Ahhh-sheh. Sometimes it’s spelled Ache by Cubans. Which confuses the hell out of English speakers.

I also add Cascarilla and some secret ingredients to the brew like my sister does. Though mine are different. Once charged, I wait until New Year’s Day to bathe. Like literally a few minutes after midnight. Then I try to dress in light colors.

I have a specific color I use to be empowered.

Santeria Cleansings & New Year’s Traditions

Orisha shrines to Yemaya and Oshun

These are cleansings taught to me by my Godmother in Santeria. The traditions here I also learned from my Babalawo. First up is the feeding of the Earth.

Feeding the Earth : The Story of the Jorojoro

From Viralife

This one was taught to me by my Babalawo Warning! Do not do this ritual. Only a Babalawo or high priest of Orula can do this. I am just outlining the basic ritual and the origin. Doing this the wrong way can actually kill you. This isn’t a joke.

You’ve been warned.

According to our sacred texts, it’s said that when the daughter of God ile Oguere reincarnated, she became the planet Earth. Orula the God of Divination and Magic told her she needed to do a special cleansing called an Ebo. This is sort of like a karmic cleansing to change your fate. She did not. As a result, her children (humans) abuse and hurt her.

The Ebo would have prevented that.

Mother Earth herself

A few years later after humanity had populated the Earth, the Orishas (Gods) had invented death itself. This was to prevent overpopulation. They assigned Iku to be the Orisha of Death. And everyone hated Iku. They all wanted to live forever.

What was worse is that back then when people died, their bodies just lay around. Burying a body hadn’t become a custom yet. Imagine seeing your loved one’s body just laying on the ground. And it looks as if it’s still them. Just sleeping.

It must have been terrifying.

Iku or death himself by Bee

One day ile Oguere and Iku were spending time together. She complained that her human children abused her. And he complained that her children hated him for doing his job. So she had an idea. She made a pact with Iku.

“If you kill as many of my children as you can, I will absorb their bodies into my body,”

The problem was, it was going to be difficult for him to do it on his own. So he said,

“My wife Arun (disease) will have to do this work with us. She must be given power over everyone equally. The rich and the poor, the young and old, kings and their vassals, the wise and prideful, thieves and honest people. Everyone equally,”

She thought about it, and finally said,

“I accept, however I demand that all people grant me tribute of whatever food they eat. And if anyone does not do this, you will be in charge of collecting their debts,”

From that day forward, Iku sends natural disasters and all manner of unnatural death to fall on humans. And in exchange, ile Oguere will suck down human bodies into her own body. When this happened, human bodies began to decompose. Because the Earth began to call them home. Now since then, many rituals to appease the Earth have been made.

As well as many rituals to ward off Iku. And some ceremonies like this one, do both. The Jorojoro is a hole, representing the mouth of the Earth. Usually, a group of Yoruba practitioners led by a Babalawo go into a barren land. They open the Jorojoro, and perform a ritual which has many prayers and components.

But part of it is a technique called Sarayeye. Basically, this is cleansing your body or a place with a ritually charged object. This can be an idol. Food. Or even the body part of an animal like feathers.

In this case, everyone carries a plate full of food and perform Sarayeye with that food. The cleansing absorbs all the bad energy. Bad luck, death, disease, curses, obstacles in the New Year etc…then one by one, the food is dumped into the JoroJoro to feed the Earth. The Jorojoro has to be deep so that it can absorb all of the food. Then, the ritual is closed, by sealing the Jorojoro shut.

The Earth Mother will be appeased and she will give you powerful blessings. At the same time she is draining all the osorbos or bad energy away from you. Including Iku or death. This is done every new year by Babalawos. The ritual is expensive but well worth it.

But I must warn you that only a Babalawo has the authority to perform this ritual. If anyone tells you they can do it without being a Babalawo, run away. Because doing it incorrectly angers ile Oguere. And it results in death. This is because the Earth is hungry.

And the worst thing you can do, is to leave the hole open. She will devour the energy of the person who didn’t perform the ritual the right way. Pull their soul down into death.

Cleansing with the Goddesses at the Beach

Yemaya and Oshun from Luna

This cleansing was taught to me by my Godmother in Santeria. Oshun and Yemaya are the Goddesses who symbolize cleansing and prosperity the most. Inle does too. But a lot of people leave Inle out. What you do is take a bottle of melao or sugar cane syrup to the beach.

And once there, you pour some in your hair. And the rest into the water. Obviously you have to be in the water when you are doing this. This is an offering to Yemaya, the Goddess of the Seas and Oceans. Really all water everywhere belongs to her.

She is the Mother of the Earth in our tradition. Because without water, no planet can survive. Now, when you do this, it’s an even more powerful cleansing than the flowering ritual mentioned above. Yemaya can open your roads to greatness and bestow blessing so powerful than no force or enemy can stop you. It may take a while with the flowering bath to disintegrate the bad energy.

As well as renew your strength. But this cleansing with the beach is faster. It’s also more powerful because this is a loci specific ritual. A ritual that uses the power of a location to help you.

The beach at night

A variation of this ritual, uses a honey comb or honey. Personally, I prefer to use a honey comb. You can buy those in the supermarket. It’s like a bar of soap made out of honey. You can scrub yourself with it.

Like you are talking a bath at the beach.

From Etsy

They’re usually in square plastic containers like this. Though if you can’t find honey combs, just rub regular honey on yourself. Then pour the rest in your hair. Like the offerings of the sugar cane syrup. Oshun is the one you call with this cleansing.

And you are asking her to pull all the impure energy out of you. All bad luck, everything out of your energy field. Then, you toss the honey comb into the water as far as you can. That will be the offering for Oshun. But I would recommend you bring a change a clothes with you.

Bring shorts or a bikini to enter the water. Because regular clothing in sea water smells like a rotten animal. Better to remove the wet clothing and change back into your normal clothes afterwards. Bring a bag with you for your wet clothing to seal it up until you can wash it. Likewise you can do something with Inle as well.

She is the Doctor of the Orishas. And has great power to heal. What I normally use for her are vines and leaves which symbolize healing. I ask the Earth to charge it with great power. Then when I go to the Ocean, I ask Inle to drain all that is bad from me, to the vines.

And all the good energy from the earth and water to enter me. Then I toss the vines into the water far away from me. And that will be Inle’s offering.

Egg Cleansing with Elegua

From the Elegua ritual against Wickedness

We have already discussed the powers of the Sarayeye technique. And how ritually charged objects can be used in cleansings. This is such a cleansing. My Godmother taught me this one too. The one and only ingredient here is an egg.

If you want you can bless the egg to make it stronger. That’s up to you. On the first Monday of the new year, in the morning, rub an egg from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. And pray to Elegua. Ask him to take all the bad energy out of you from the old year.

You will wait until you feel lighter. As if everything that was on and in you will be devoured by that egg. Eggs are living objects. They have living organisms inside them. So they are the best things to use for a sacrifice.

Once everything has been pulled from you, you throw it backwards so that it will break. Do not look behind you. Because if you do, whatever negativity you had removed, will return to you. And worse than before. Now you cannot eat eggs for seven days.

Because if you eat the same food you cleansed yourself with, it will also return the negativity to you. Seven days is the cut off point. After the egg fast the day after the seventh day, you will be able to eat them again. You can wash the egg with holy water to give it an added charge. Or anoint it with a holy oil or powder.

Elegua

If you can’t do this in the morning then do it at night or the afternoon. The point is doing it while it is still Monday. Elegua is the God of the Crossroads in Yoruba religion. He opens all roads and brings success in all things. No ritual or prayer can be done without giving the first and last offerings to him.

He is the Lord of the New Year and Old Year and will open and close all doors. Doing this ritual with Elegua will be sure to remove all obstacles. He is the divine child God and Prince of our religion.

Throwing Water out the front door, the Window, or the Balcony on New Year’s Day

In Latin America and Spain, people throw out a bucket of water at the very moment of midnight of New Year’s Day. Others like the people of Uruguay, do it from December 31st. The water absorbs the old energy of the old Year. So when you cast out the water from your home, you are casting out the old year. Santeros have our own variant of the ritual.

My Godmother puts Cascarilla into the bucket so that the positive energies of the new year can be invited in. Some use a bucket of Catholic holy water.

Puerto Rican women of the older generations also did the same thing. But they would follow that up by burning church incense inside the house to bring blessings. They’d be doing this and praying deep into the early hours of the night. And to ward off evil. I burn Gold Rain incense that I dedicate to the laughing Buddha to bring in money.

New Year’s in the Ozarks

Emma Dusenbury

The Christian Magicians in the Ozarks in Arkansas have similar beliefs. They believe in sending out the old year. And bringing in the new year. But instead of using a bucket of holy water, they open their windows. Just a crack, not open all the way.

The old year slips out through the same small opening. And at the same time the new year slips in. There are other beliefs concerning the New Year’s in the Ozarks. Namely that a visit from strangers isn’t very good. But especially not from a woman.

Why that is, has never been explained, at least not to me. Only that your year is supposed to be crap if a woman is your first New Year’s visitor. That actually happened to me once. And it wasn’t just any woman, it was an extremely neurotic neighbor. One that drove her family crazy.

Like literally every once in a while there were cops or some other trouble in that apartment. She visited us to wish us happy new year just as I was about to throw the water out the front door. I actually debated tossing the water at her.

“Maybe if I throw the water at her crazy ass it’ll exorcise the bad year or cancel it out,”

I didn’t. And man did I regret that decision. Because it really was a shitty fucking year. I don’t know if it was the power of suggestion or not. But at least that time it was right.

I know in the Ozarks it usually is right. On New Year’s Day they tend to stay home. Almost in lockdown pattern. Until the next day. They also seem to have a taboo against taking something out of their home.

They seem to believe removing anything from their houses on New Year’s Day will bring poverty. For a visitor to be allowed in, that person has to bring something inside with them. Even if it’s a twig. This symbolizes prosperity. Now with me it’s the opposite.

I throw shit out as quickly as possible. I like my energy uncluttered. But every place has its own set of rules. All of this information comes from a Folklorist known as Vance Randolph. His research on the Christian faith healers and magic users of the Ozarks is considered Gospel.

Even by the faith healers themselves. He did everything he could to properly catalog, analyze, and preserve Ozark culture. Especially the magical and mystical aspects of their folk religion. He’s in essence, the Eliphas Levi of Ozark and folklore and folk magic. His second wife was a premier folklorist named Mary Celestia Parler.

And together they created the Arkansas Folklore Society. Unfortunately the society which was started in 1950, ended in 1960. But any books or papers you can get from them are good. For they are necessary if you really want to understand the culture and faith of these amazing mountain people. I became fascinated by Ozark magic and folk religion years ago.

I thought this entry would be incomplete without mentioning them.

Chalking of the Doors : Blessing your home for the whole year with Baby Jesus and the Three Kings

The blessing formula drawn over the inside or outside of the front door to bless the home

It was once believed by Christian denominations from Europe, that Satan temporarily losses his powers. Every year around the time of New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. Some believe it’s on Christmas Day. Still, it’s important to perform special wardings and blessings. The most common blessing during this time is the Catholic Epiphany blessing.

In fact, practitioners of Hoodoo also perform this blessing themselves. While traditional Catholics only allow a Priest or the head of the family to do it. Anyone who practices the root can do this. When a Priest does this, they do it as a representation of Christ. This is commonly referred to as in persona Christi (in the person of Christ).

This is a fascinating concept. It essentially means that the Priest is making themselves empty of their personal nature. And they ritually “become” Christ. They allow themselves to be filled with his authority. Like a form of divine possession almost.

In Christianity, divine possession doesn’t always mean that a spirit takes you over. Sometimes it refers to inspiration. Gaining prophetic visions and such. In this case it’s the actual authority of Christ being transferred to the Priest temporarily. When this happens, any blessing performed by the Priest, is the same as if Jesus himself were doing it.

Traditionally, a Priest does this. But the father of the family can also do it. I find that kind of sexist because the head of the family could be a woman. So really any head of the family can do it. As long as they are baptized.

Because then they are, they’re included in the “universal priesthood” (belief that all Christians are priests of Christ). In addition to this, practitioners of both Voodoo and Hoodoo can also perform this ritual. In fact this was an old tradition for many years. I was going to write about this. However, there are some amazing articles I found that I decided were better than anything I could write.

* How to make Epiphany Water, the special holy water blessed for this occasion

* The Ingredients for the Epiphany Ceremony & Instructions on how to do it

* A Simpler version of the instructions for the Epiphany Ceremony (but the simple version is only if you are already familiar with the ritual, which includes having a baby Jesus image enthroned in a manger to be part of the ceremony).

* An Explanation for the Epiphany Blessing

Central to this are three themes :

* Worship of Jesus in his child form (Divine Child) a theme you can find in many religions

* Worshipping him through a household ceremony as if the house was his house

* Calling on the Three Pagan Kings to aid in the warding and blessing of the home for the whole year until next year by chalking the door.

Using the Blessed Chalk to make the inscriptions

Then

* Blessing the home with Epiphany Water and special prayers.

Again this is me dumbing down the ritual for you. The actual ritual is a ceremony the whole family just participate in. And you are giving cultus to the Christ child by using an image of him. Now, the Catholic Church explains that the formula for blessing the house is Latin. And that the initials mean, Christus mansionem benedicat – (Christ bless this house).

However, these are also the initials of the Three Kings. Casper, Melchior, and Balthazar. And as I said, this is an old tradition done even by Rootworkers in the old days. Granted when we do it, it’s normally just the initials C.M.B., the plus signs are crosses and the numbers are the year the blessing is taking place in. For instance, the formula for this new year will be 2023 so the formula will be,

20+C+M+B+23

Rootworkers also believe that this chalk blessing offerings protection against witchcraft. It calls on the power of Christ and the three kings to block any malevolent influence. Be it magic or evil spirits.

How I do it

I do follow this formula almost identically to the way it’s performed by the church. I find that the chalking formula they use is better than just writing CMB. However, I don’t just write what is there. I add some things to the blessed incantation. For one, there was a Fourth Mage King known as Artaban.

He followed Jesus all his life. There are stories of heroic deeds and even people whose lives he saved along the way. But he never did catch up to Jesus. Finally he died almost at the same time Christ was crucified. And Christ himself crossed him over.

Saying that in everything he did, including saving the lives of the innocent, it was as if he had done those things for him. And There was also a Roman Witch the Magi Kings were friends with. We don’t know her true name. But she is known as La Befana in Italy. So over there it’s a Christmas Witch and not Santa Klaus who delivers gifts.

La Befana’s name means “The Epiphany” in Italian. From “La Bafana : The Christmas Witch Italian Children Love

She was to join them to see Jesus as a child. However, she said she couldn’t because she was too old to make the journey. Later she regretted it. And tried to catch up to them, but it was already too late. So the sack of gifts she intended for the Child Christ, was instead given to the needy children of Rome.

So my formula is :

20+C+M+B+A+LB+23

To invoke all of their protections.

Other Traditions

There are a bunch of other New Years traditions to mention but they are all too numerous to write about here. So instead I brought you links and pictures from Atlas Obscura.

It Came With The Storm : Ancient Native American Remains Unearthed by Hurricane Nichole

Authorities believe these skeletal remains are that of an Ancient Native American group buried on a Beach

The beach is already legendary among us Floridians. The official name is Chastain Beach. It’s on Hutchinson Island. But most people call it Seven Skulls because once seven human skulls were found there. Every time a Hurricane hits that area in just the right direction, skeletal remains are always discovered.

It’s led to many believing this is an indigenous burial ground. As you can read from the article on it, it’s also believed to be a mystical place. People who live in the town of Stuart say that the bones should be buried again. That interfering with the bodies is bad. Unfortunately the authorities don’t listen.

They were removed from the beach already. Probably on their way to a Museum.

Recently I had talked about a strange Supernatural occurrence during Hurricane Ian. In which I believe a Wild Hunt was unleashed. Some people in Central Florida heard the hooves of Horses on their roofs during the Hurricane. Something none of us have ever reported hearing before. I tried debunking it.

And couldn’t. So I turned to magic. And I saw a horrifying visions. They looked like legions of angry souls. All of them seeking revenge in one form of another.

Go to 1:18 on the video to skip to the part about the unearthed bodies

This video show it from the beginning. The Seminole Nation has claimed the bodies and the beach as belonging to their ancestors. I just thought this was something odd and interesting to put here. Be blessed my friends,

Hallowed Tales : The Story of Gabriel Littlepage of Roan County

A rendering of Gabriel Littlepage based on descriptions. From American Mythology on YouTube

This is a new series I have created for the blog called Hallowed Tales. Which is for Hallowsmastide or the Catholic Halloween. Today we’re going to be looking at a historical mystery. At a local folk legend named Gabriel Littlepage of Roan County, West Virginia. I’m very sorry that we don’t know more about the man.

He’s fascinating to say the least. There’s not much I could say that isn’t already covered in this video. So sit back, relax. And turn the lights off. Maybe light a candle in the dark. And watch with delight.

And say a little prayer for old Gabe.

“And Qayn said to Adonai, ‘My punishment is greater than I can bare,’ ” – Genesis 4:13

Reports of a strange, Wolf like animal around that area. A phantom canine similar to the Wolf or wolf dog Gabe had, is still being reported roaming that area. And since this is Hekate’s Deipnon (Feast of Hekate) in which all dark souls to go the Crossroads to feed, I thought maybe Gabriel’s story would be an excellent addition. Pray for Gabriel and his Wolf Dog.

Have a good night 🎃

It came with the Storm : A Wild Hunt During Hurricane Ian?

Hurricane Ian was the fifth most powerful storm in terms of speed to ever hit the US

The first time I had ever written an It came with the storm story was due to a hurricane that hit Honduras. The story was so fascinating and strange, I took time to transcribe it and translate it into English. I never thought I would end up creating a series on this. But here we are. And to make it stranger, it’s about something that happened here in Florida.

People say that “things” come with storms. That a storm is a doorway into another world. And spirits can hitch a ride on them to our world. That’s why the story from Honduras I translated didn’t surprise me. If anything it reaffirmed the old tales.

But most people don’t think anything like that could happen here in North America. The US and Canada are considered too modern for such superstitious fancies. Are they now? I’d argue there’s just as much strange activity in the Americas in our age as there is in our countries. And a series of such things happened during the Hurricane. So this is the story of, possibly, Florida’s Wild Hunt.

A Door Between Worlds

Some believe that storms or other weather phenomenon can bring things to this world. Picture.

For many years there have been stories of portals in the sky. Opening at odd times and showing strange lights. And that can happen even under normal weather. Storms can tear into the dimensional fabric even more. How this is possible is unknown.

Science dictates you would need the power of a small star just to power a small worm hole. Although a spiritual being is an entity of a higher universe. And in theory they could conjure up power at a greater level at their finger tips. Is that what’s happening here? Do they just call up a storm with their power?

Or do they hijack an already existing storm? We may never know.

What is known, is that many people have reported strange things happening in storms. Even seeing strange things. Specifically during hurricane or tornados. In Ancient Times, Gods and spirits traveled the skies on storms. Which leads us to the Wild Hunt.

The God, Arwyn Pen Annuvin (Arwyn of the Inworld or inner world) leading a Wild Hunt with his ghostly dogs. From the Celtic Oracle by John Matthews

Essentially, the Wild Hunt is a Supernatural Hunting Party. Sometimes in the sky, or sometimes even on Earth. Wild Hunts very. Some are led by Faeries, and other are led by the Dead. Some are led by Gods and Folk Heroes.

Everyone from Odin, Arwyn, and Arthur have led Wild Hunts. Sometimes they’re led on land with wild dogs.

From Frontier Partisans

Always led on Horseback

Some are on land

And others are in the Sky

From the Dresden Files

Wild Hunts were normally considered bad by most non magical people. Because it was believed the Hunters were pursuing evil spirits. And people were scared that witches were astral projecting as spirits to join the Wild Hunt. (1) Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact it sounds like good fun!

And they appear in almost every culture. From Polytheistic religions to Monotheistic religion.

A Wild Hunt in Heaven, with Satan being cast out

The Hoofs on the Roof

But this time my family and I didn’t have to go through this. The storm went to Central Florida. A strange place to go to. The people there were so sure they would be missed, that even the authorities slacked off. Big mistake.

The Governor and local leaders didn’t bother issuing warnings to the populous until it was too late. And no one could do anything about it. And the storm roared forth. Like a giant wave of pain and darkness upon the land.

In addition to what you are seeing here, entire roads were either flooded or blocked by debris. But I won’t spend more time on this post on that. Instead I will talk about the strangeness. There was something weird about this storm.

Something the other storms never had.

The feelings in the air was just eerie. It wasn’t even Samhain yet and it felt like the dead were in the air. Some people think that when certain events are going to happen, spirits gather. Is that what was happening here? I wondered as I was throwing the trash out in the days preceding the landfall of Ian.

Many heard it across Florida

For many days we had all been feeling as if someone stepped on our graves. I prayed like crazy and left offerings wherever I could hoping we would be okay. In addition to all the weirdness we were all feeling in Miami, the storm seemed to be alive. I mean storms change courses all of the time. They are alive to a certain point.

But this was different. It seemed like it had a destination it was mapping out. And when it finally touched ground wreaking all that devastation, people talked about their experiences. A lot of people said it sounded like a freight train was hitting their houses. That’s to be expected.

Most hurricanes actually sound like that. Or they have this really deep whistle in the air. That’s how it was for me when I was a kid during Hurricane Andrew. It also sounded like the lightning was actually falling on the road. And it felt like a flood was about to crash through the barricaded front door of my house.

But then, weird stories started to come out of Central Florida. A few people were claiming that they heard what sounded like horse hooves running atop their houses. Now when I heard this, for some reason I felt this electric shock. Like that feeling you get when you know something. I felt like this was a sign of the Paranormal.

But just because I have a feeling doesn’t mean that I am going to come out and say “it’s the Wild Hunt,”. Obviously, that won’t ever be proven by science. What I can do is draw on my paranormal training to try and debunk what I believe. If I can disprove it then than means there’s at least a possibility that it’s nothing paranormal. And I would have to adhere to that unless I have proper proof.

I studied everything I could find online on storms.

Jana Houser standing next to the Rapid X-Pol radar instrument, a new type of rapidly-scanning mobile radar system, during a storm chase on 8 May 2012. Credit: Jana Houser via AGU from this article

I have been waiting since Ian and after Ian. I researched with the mind of someone who doesn’t believe in shit. Who believes there is a reasonable explanation for what happened. First I assumed it was that the storm sounded that way. So I looked up Hurricane sounds.

And while many articles and videos show that they can sound like freight trains or have those same whistle sounds I have heard, nothing about horse hooves. Nothing anywhere. And I used multiple search engines including DuckDuckGo. Nada. Zip.

Zilch. Next I tried psychology. And I tried to reason that because there is such a large farming community in Central Florida, people there reasonably associated storm sounds with sounds they might hear every day. Sounds they were used to. At first I went with that explanation.

But then I realized, that’s BS. We have many farms here in Miami. There’s a place called the Redlands. It’s an agricultural district with mostly wealthy families living there. Gigantic mansions and properties you couldn’t imagine.

Sometimes I just go there to watch the big houses and to buy fruit from the farms. And even in Miami, there are smaller farms and urban farms. Heck it’s not even outside of the normal to see random wild animals and farm animals in the city streets. I have a chicken that somehow made it into my apartment complex. We all feed her.

And I looked at the reports. None of the people who heard the horse hooves had farms. They were all regular people who lived in houses. I’ve probably been to more farms than they have. So it couldn’t be that.

And if living or being near farms would make us believe hear “horse hooves” in a hurricanes I would think we would associate those sounds the same way too. We have had hurricanes for years. And no one here or in any other part of Florida mentioned the hurricanes sounding like horse’s hooves. So that’s a bust too. After all this time researching and attempting to debunk it, it came up empty.

The only other explanation is Oh the Hurricane just happened to sound that way this time. Which is lazy thinking. I have heard half cocked bullshit explanations like that by skeptics and cynics alike. They always end up creating the most idiotic explanations and then pass them off as reasonable ones. I remember a Sheriff tried to tell a family that witnessed a UFO, that they had seen a large owl and became “hysterical,”.

And what’s worse is that the same BS is used by skeptics for that case. It’s a woman and her kids so they have to be hysterical. I am so tired of people who think that way. It’s a lack of intellect and just lazy reasoning. If you can even call it that.

Point is, there was nothing to debunk it outside of lazy reasoning and speculation. None of which holds up to scientific scrutiny. So it’s just as likely that it’s something paranormal as it is non paranormal. So debunking was a dead end. Time to do what I do best.

From the article Lay That Ghost: Necromancy in Ancient Greece and Rome by Daniel Ogden

As the description from the article says, the Gods of death, sleep, and dreams were considered Gods of Prophesy. Normally I call them and other beings to give me dreams to tell me about stuff. But right now I can’t. I lost a friend and am mourning his death. According to Greek tradition that means I have a 13 day mourning and purification period.

But my Druid Master has told me the Tuatha dé Danann have no such restrictions. But instead of a God, I decided to call the spirit of a Druid Seer. I thought this would be a nice concession to all sides of my magical life. After all, as a British witch once told me,

“Why call Gods to know or do things when your dead Aunt Tilly or one of the Fae can easily do the same? If not better?”

So I spoke to an old friend……Fedelm.

A depiction of Fedelm in the Celtic Oracle by John Matthews. She had blond hair that was braided, with black eye brows. And this was supposed to be what she wore.

Fedelm is a dead Druid poet and prophetess. She had exceptional powers when alive. And many people believed that her black eye brows were the sign of the triple iris. Showing that she was meant to be a Seer. Among her many powers is Imbas Forosnai.

A sort of trance state. Where one calls down the Gods to ask for answers to questions. I haven’t read about it in years. But I believe you need a triangular stone and raw ham and cheese that you chew in your mouth. Then you place the chewed up ham and cheese on the stone.

You put this behind the front door. And either sleep or enter a light lucid dreaming state. There you talk to the Gods and inquire what you will. Fedelm was a master of this ability, and probably didn’t even have to do this ritual all of the time to gain answers. She could predict anything at any time.

Even in death, a Prophet’s connection is strong. One would argue it’s even stronger. So I gave her an offering at my shrine for the dead. Invited her to come visit me. And went to bed.

My dreams were weird as fuck. It was like being in Woodstock. Sometimes in my sleep I was awake enough to know that I was talking out loud. Then I woke up and tried to piece together what I was dreaming. I remembered some bits.

“Ghost Storm” by Jeroen Van Valkenburg

I ignored the ones which were obviously my subconscious. But I paid attention to those things that were out of the ordinary. I dreamt of a tidal wave made up of people. But there was no water. Or rather there was.

They were hiding in the water.

In non-corporeal form. And yet they were still able to influence the physical world. I saw them rise up and create the storm from beneath the waters. They were restless. Some were just angry and wanted to destroy things.

And their faces were deformed. Some died of suicide and others of COVID. They were railing against the world. It’s not fair, I felt them saying. It wasn’t our time yet!.

And they just fused into this collective mass of dark water. And I could see lightning inside the water too. And hear many angry voices roaring from within it. And that’s when I woke up. My heart beating and me drenched in sweat.

I felt like I was there. Somewhere in the ocean. Like I had to be quiet so that I wouldn’t catch their attention. It was one of the most intense and fucked up visions I had ever had. Like these were people who died in 2020 and onward till now.

Or from the many suicides that happened in the pandemic. I waited, calmed down. And for the next few days I put it out of my head. And when I felt I was calm and centered enough, I tried normal divinations. And they all confirmed in one way or another what Lady Fedelm had told me.

Of course this is magical “evidence” for myself. I can’t expect any of you reading this to believe. And I’m sure other magic users in Florida have different opinions on the subject as well. But I know, and many of us here in Miami who felt it know, Ian wasn’t a normal Hurricane. Something did come with the storm.

And it’s wrath was terrible.

New Years Report for the Year 2022 : Cuba’s Letter of the Year, Orixa Regente 2022, Chinese Tai Sui, & Astrological information

The Sea Goat of Capricorn

Well, we did it. We survived another shitty year. But we’re not out of the woods yet. For one thing, this year begins in a Saturday. Which is a weekend.

Symbolizing that like the year before this one, we still have things we need to finish this year. Probably because no one is listening to COVID guidelines. And we are still spreading this disease like it’s nobody’s business. Also, Saturdays are very chthonic. Which probably means we have far more work to do in the area of destroying things that do not work for us.

One thing I will say is that this year is for healing. The New Moon in Capricorn is here to tell us that we should not be holding on to our pain. This whole “tough love” stuff should take a back seat this year. Take the time to heal and be healed in turn.

The New Moon arrives Sunday January 2nd. Which as you know, new moons are times of the dead and of darker spirits. So avoid going out at night for Sunday and the remainder of the New Moon. Until you see the first sliver of the moon at least. Focus on destroying bad energy and bringing in good luck instead.

Write your wishes in paper and burn it to the Gods and spirits of this year for blessings. Here is some more advice on the New Moon tomorrow.

Sunday’s New Moon

General He E, the Grand Duke of Jupiter for the year 2022

We are now in the Year of the Water Tiger which is considered a time for your dreams to take hold. Which makes sense considering who we have as our Tai Sui this year : General He E. This General was a bit of a hero. He solved complex crimes and even donated a treasure to the Emperor so that he wouldn’t raise taxes on the people. He was considered an honest politician. And truly Catered to the needs of his people.

The general consensus is that this is going to be a good year. But, there were other years where everything was supposed to be good. And it didn’t exactly turn out that way. Because very few people look at both sides of the Gods and spirits who rule. The shadow side.

So the good side is : honest politicians who care about their people. Who are trying to do something to make society better. Or at the very least as non shitty politicians as possible. The shadow side is what happens if exists. If we have bad politicians trying to force their way on us this year, this will clash with the ruling Tai Sui.

And the clash will be felt. So everything depends on how politicians decide to behave this year. Information on the water tiger can be found here.

Water Tiger 2022

On the left Oshanla the Orisha Mother of Light and Weaver of Destiny. On the Right Obatala the White Robed King, ruler of all the Orishas.

This year is ruled by the Orishas of Yoruba Gods Obatala, and his female avatar Oshanla. Obatala is the father of light. The King of the Heavens of the Orishas. He’s also the creator of humanity. The best of all Gods.

While Oshanla, his female incarnation is the Goddess of light. A guardian and sentinel protecting humanity. The weaver of our fates and destinies. So it would seem that like the Chinese Astrologers, the Yoruba believe this year will be a good year.

At least for justice. And as long as those in power don’t misuse their authority.

Phrases for the year

“King dead, king put”

“It is a mistake not to learn from the mistakes made”

Now however, we get to meat of the matter. Each year is ruled by a “Letter of the year” each letter in IFA is an Odu (sacred text). And each text has its own story and a moral at the end. The ruling sign is Baba Ejiogbe. This is the first of all signs. Father of signs hence the word “baba”.

The cliff notes version of the story is this. It talks about loss, stress. General bad things. So I was right to be skeptical of the sunny disposition of the Year in the beginning. It says that one moment you have the best luck, and the next your luck turns to shit.

I started feeling that happening the last two weeks or so. So for me it already hit hard. Perhaps many of you, my readers have already felt that. We are told in this sign that not to expect prosperity. That any good we have will not come from in high, but from the sweat of our own brow.

We are also told that this is a sign of frustration. Which is why we need Obatala’s guidance. We need an elderly mother and father to help guide us and place us in the right path. So overall it seems we will have many hardships this year. But they can be overcome with hard work and determination.

The sign tells us that we really need to control our behavior. We cannot get into conflicts. We should be tolerant of other people’s beliefs and ideologies (well, within reason obviously, Fuck Nazis and Anti-Vaxxers). But we need to avoid warlike energy at all costs. This year it will be only too easy to fall into that.

So we need to work our hardest to ensure it doesn’t happen. It also speaks of diseases. Specifically spinal and sternum problems. As well as anxiety, blood vessels and lymph, colds, breathing, the mitral valve, the stomach, health in general really. Asthma, syphilis and rheumatism, bladder, pneumonia, urinary tract, earaches, and bronchitis.

We’re also told to avoid being outside for at least seven days. They warn of not allowing children to crawl on the floor. A lot of this sign reminds me of sheltering in place and being protected from COVID. They also warn against abortions and premature deaths of children since the Abiku will have a lot of influence in this sign. And all forced good and evil are well balanced.

There’s too much on that sign to write about. So you can learn more by clicking on the link I provided for it above. The sign also warns of government coups. And given all the coups we have already had in the past two years that isn’t very surprising. But it is alarming.

The last thing we need are more. So keep your eyes peeled.

From the Yoruba Cultural Association of Cuba

Ruling prayer

“Ire Ayiku Oyale Elese Odudawa,”

(A firm blessing of health at the foot of Odudawa)

Onishe : Oshun Yalorde (so she’s also a part of this)

Aladimu Oshinshin is : Scrambled eggs, with barley, and Purslane

Ebbo for IFA Practitioners is as follows :

Two roosters, a jug (in Cuba they had clay jugs for keeping water cool), an eggplant, a white flag, a black flag, Water of Olokun, red mangrove and reef, smoked possum, smoked fish (any kind), toasted corn, a coconut, two candles, Brandy, and honey.

Ebbo for Santeros :

A rooster, reef, a sponge, ocean water, two dolls (one female, one male), trap, arrow, a small house, a coconut, brandy, honey, smoked possum and fish, and toasted corn.

Now this part, is pretty much a more condensed version of the article I posted above. The one on the meaning of Baba Ejiogbe which is here. Instead of translating I posted the entire English language article on it. Which is even more specific than what is listed here. Just click on the link and read it.

It also includes the taboos one should follow and what to watch out for this year.

Orixas Regente 2022 (Ruling Orixas of 2022)

The Orixas

Now, in Umbanda and Quimbanda as well as Condomble they are also based on the Yoruba of Nigeria. But they do their own divinations. And with different Orishas or Orixas as it’s spelled in Portuguese. I have translated the report on them here for anyone interested. Original article here.

Orixás regents of 2022

– Exú (from Yoruba Esù)

– The Ibejis (Divine Twins)

– Oxumarê (from Yoruba Òsùmáré)

– Yemanjá

“The year 2022, in all, will have the regency of 5 Orixás. Being that, 3 of them will govern every day and 2 will act at different times that will be the beginning and end of the year. In chronological order, see each of them so that we can understand when we will be according to a particular regency. Orixás, which are: Exú (beginning of the year), Oxumarê and Ibejis (all year round) and Yemanjá to end 2022. In view of this, we will see below in more detail the representativeness of each of them:

Exú (from Yoruba Esù)

We will start with the influence of Orixá Exú – different from the entity Exú also in Umbanda – which represents communication.

He’s the great messenger between deities and humans. Represents the path. Nothing better than starting the year with Exú, your energy will begin to organize all uncertainties we will bring back this year 2021. Whether in the political aspect, economic but mainly in the aspect of world health. As we enter the year 2022 still with many doubts, with fears and without knowing, in fact, which course to take or where to start again. Therefore, it will be a very propitious year for us to put our “homes up to date”, our lives, our families, jobs, health (mental, physical and spiritual) “up to date”

Because Exú will be at our side indicating to us what the best decision to be made before all the questions presented to us during this year. The day of the week dedicated to Exú is Monday, his colors are black and red (predominantly) and his elements are fire and earth.

Oxumare

(From Yoruba Òsùmáré) – orixá regent 2022 In line with Exú, Oxumarê is one of the main energies that will govern the entire 2022 from the first to the last minute. If Exú is the great messenger, Oxumaré is the Orixá who walks between heaven and earth. So much so that one of its representations in nature is the rainbow. It is also represented as a great serpent that envelops the earth and the sky, bringing and ensuring renewal. Oxumarê is recognized as “the great force that directs the movements”, that is, under the influence of Oxumarê we will have a year absolutely conducive to transformations and renewals.

It will be time to put into practice our projects that have been “shelved” due to the various crises that we still go through, because Oxumarê takes the rainwaters back to the clouds and then “the sun will shine” in 2022. It will be a very positive year for transformations in the professional sphere, as well as in the spheres of friendships and romances. To the extent that, Oxumarê represents the wealth and fortune and consequently prosperity. When we talk about prosperity we should not only focus on material prosperity that concerns money, although it is a favorable year in this regard, but especially with regard to spiritual prosperity.

This is because to the extent that we are well structured emotionally and Oxumarê will bring the conditions for this structuring. We will be very close to achieving prosperity also in the spiritual sphere because we must not forget that it is our individual energy that drives us to prosperity or failure. So let’s stick to this great opportunity to definitively take from our paths low vibration energies that are eventually afflicting us and preventing us from reaching our goals. With regard to affective relationships, Oxumarê is the “balancer of love”, so I suggest you wait a little longer for decision-making in that aspect of their lives and especially, do not lose sight of that opportunity that are awaiting possible reconciliation.

Those adjustments that are missing to put love life back on track. The day of the week dedicated to Oxumarê is Tuesday, its colors are black and yellow with regard to candomblé, jeje nation, or green and yellow with regard to to candomblé, Ketu nation, but let us not forget that Oxumarê is the representation rainbow and then all the colors of the rainbow belong to it. Its element is the sky and the earth.

(Oxumare or Oshanmare as we call him/her in Santeria is also worshipped on Sundays).

Once again we have the influence of the energy of deities who bring with them the characteristics of beginning and continuity, multiplication and riches. But they also bring with them the contradictory indicating that opposites can walk together and that all things have two sides. Ibejis will bring to us the importance of movement, of not waiting for things to happen and that it is time to “chase after what we really want” and together with Oxumarê and Exú will give us ways to achieve what we want as long as it is fair to us, that is, we cannot wait for “things to fall from heaven.”

(This is a similar sentiment to the Santero divination.)

The Ibejis (Divine Twins)

The Ibejis are two very little known and/or worshiped deities in Brazil (also in Cuba with Santeria and traditional Yoruba religion in Nigeria) although it is widely associated with two Saints of Catholic Christianity – They are Cosme and St. Damian. Therefore, Ibejis is not the same thing as St. Cosme and St. Damian. Despite the large existing similarities, including on the date of commemoration of these deities who also take place on 27 September. Ibejis will be together with Oxumaré ruling all year 2022 and with them will bring the continuity, since they represent children, especially twin children. In the Yoruba cult and with regard to this cult, children are the greatest riches in existence.

Ibejis represent the balance of the universe and thus will bring to 2022 the opportunity of mental, financial and spiritual balance inviting us to see the good because everything has two sides, as stated above and it is up to us to look to the good side, the pure and beautiful side. The day of the week we dedicate to the Ibejis is Sunday, their colors are green, light blue and pink. Their element is air.

Yemanjá

Far from being the least important, in fact is Orixá best known to Brazilians generally (and other Yoruba practitioners). Yemanjá is the GREAT MOTHER, the mother of all and almost all Orixás. That is Yemanjá is present in the life of each of us and it makes total sense for her to conduct, the end of 2022. She will follow the whole process of reunion, transformation and balance/rebalancing of her children as the great mother she is, she will be “half away” eagerly waiting for every step of ours and giving us the absolute certainty that we will be at all times rested by her love and dedication.

Yemanjá, queen of all waters (salty and sweet). Her name, in Portuguese means” mother whose children are fish” she will bring with her the energy of possibility to reinvent. And she will always be with her arms outstretched to cherish us from the whole process we encounter during the year 2022. And we will meet with that mother’s hug we need so badly. Despite being the divinity of all waters, her greatest energy is concentrated in the fresh waters of rivers that flow into the sea and so we will be, renewed and purified by their clear waters ready to cast ourselves into the seas. The day dedicated to Yemanjá is Saturday, her colors are silver, blue and green. Her element is water,”

And finally, an interesting post about Isis as the Goddess of New Year.

Cheers everyone, 🍻

Surfside : Florida’s 9/11

The wreckage of the Condo at Surfside, seen at night

I don’t say this lightly mind you. While Terrorists didn’t knock these towers down, the loss of life and the devastation is so horrible that it weighs on us (well some of us). The exile protests have largely drowned out all reporting on Surfside which is shameful to say the least. The pain this left in my heart was so bad that I prayed for something, anything to replace it. I remember when I was a teenager watching the tv when the second airplane crashed into the world trade towers.

I was at school when it happened. I never thought I would witness anything even close to that again. Then, some weeks ago, when I was doing my laundry I saw reports of a condo at Surfside, Florida collapsing.

When the collapse happened, everyone thought it was a Hurricane or an Earthquake

It happened at Champlain Towers in Surfside. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I thought it was another terror attack. Whole families, and their pets trapped under the rubble. There was so much wreckage that the state of Florida was overwhelmed.

Crews from Mexico had to come here to help us out. I remember laughing bitterly at the silent irony. So many Cuban Exiles in Florida are racist against other Hispanic groups. And they hated President Lopez Obrador for his support of Cuba and Venezuela. Many exiles cheered when it stopped being a sanctuary city.

Yet here the evil commie President of Mexico was sending crews to help the ill equipped Republican Governor of Florida. And to try and save as many families as possible. Many of those families being you guessed it, Cuban immigrants. I hope after this, nobody ever complains about Leftist Presidents or Mexicans ever again.

Unfortunately, when Los Topos Aztecas (The Aztec Moles) crew came from Mexico, the Florida government didn’t allow them to help. Oh they claimed they weren’t allowing international resources to be used (why not?). But they sure allowed Israel to get involved. So a state that violates human rights could get involved in Surfside, but not a country with a Left Wing President who is closer? Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Welcome to Dumbfuckistan aka Florida.

Close up of the towers

What really made me angry is that later on, we found out the buildings had structural problems. And that these problems have been around since the 90’s. Inspector after inspector told the owners of Surfside that the buildings weren’t safe. When in what was it, 2016 or 2017? Another inspector said it needed to be fixed quickly. That peoples lives were in danger.

And then rabid Libertarians and Republicans claiming “socialism” is at fault because if Private Inspectors were allowed to do the inspections this wouldn’t have happened. Anyone sent from the government is socialism to them. Anything to distract from the fact that America’s free market system is killing us all. Prices rise but pay stays low. People die, but that’s okay because it’s all part of “democracy”.

Florida and America, I try to love you, but every day I just feel more and more disappointed in you. You are not the “land of the free and home of the brave” where “streets are paved with gold” that my family told me you were. You’re a nightmare and a shitshow. And it’s only getting worse with each generation. I don’t care who I piss off with this.

I’m a Cuban American and enough is enough already. Enough of useless Republican politicians that let the business interests in Florida pervade over us all. Enough of rampant crony capitalism. Enough of snubbing leaders from other countries who want to help us simply because they are leftist. Enough of the bullshit already.

All they do is moan and whine and complain about Castro and Communism. While they support crooked leaders that tell us that they send “prayers and thoughts” when what we need are real leaders like Lopez Obrador who actually send help. I am tired of almost no Democrats getting voted into power here cause they must all be “commies”. I’m tired that events in another country, overshadow the tragedy of Surfside here. Almost no one even remembers now.

I really do love Florida, I just wish it wasn’t in the dark ages.

Unknown Creature Resembling Chupacabra ‘takes A Walk’ In Bolivian City

Residents of Bolivia became witness to what local media termed as an “unusual UFO sighting” recently. The incident happened in the city of Santa Cruz…

Unknown Creature Resembling Chupacabra ‘takes A Walk’ In Bolivian City

Tales from the Continent: The Business Man Pt 2

After my client Alvaro told me everything

I needed to know (or so I thought) I decided to do a little divination. Nothing he told me made sense as to why someone would want to hex him. I knew he was holding something back from me. And I wasn’t going to stick my neck out for him. I took this job because I needed the money.

He was hesitant at first. But then he agreed he would give me a good donation (which also turned out to be a lie). He did go into detail about the strange hauntings in his house. A feeling of “phantom weight” he always seemed to carry, but didn’t know why. And his infant son would scream his guts out in fear at night.

At first he told his wife that it was normal for babies to be scared at night. But then he got the strange feeling that someone was inside the baby’s room. He said he thought he heard a deep voice speaking within the room one night. And a few times he had the feeling of being watched. I hate cases with kids involved.

The situation becomes more volatile. So I took a few weeks to plan and meditate. I also broke out my old spell books and charms and started experimenting with what I should do. In the end I opted for necromancy.

He did eventually tell me part of the problem

And boy was it a doozy. He went into a haunted cave at night. When he was younger he said that he went with a few friends there on a dare. The local folklore says that witches go there to do Black Sabbats. Obviously not good witches.

Or even normal witches. These are what are known as Hags. Now everyone has an opinion of what a Hag is and I want to talk about this for a second. In regular traditions a Hag is just a witch. In fact it may have been a word that the word witch evolved from.

From Haegtesse, the term Elder Hag is often used for an elder witch. But as is the case with many words and terms, there is a positive and a negative connotation. In Christian or semi Christian traditions, Hags are either demon witches. Or in the case of the Appalachian mountain people in the US, human practitioners of black magic. I understand many of my witch brethren would find that disrespectful.

Regardless, even in the South amongst the original slave populations, they had stories of Hags. The most famous being the Boo Hags. Specifically the Gullah culture talks about Boo Hags. The idea is that these were once human witches. But they delved so deeply into the practices of black magic that they eventually developed demonic powers.

They themselves becoming demons. Now I refer to such people as Demonists. In my personal practices those are witches that are beyond a normal warlock (unethical practitioner). This is another class of black witch altogether. Then there is what I call a True Demonist, someone who actually succeeds at becoming a real life demon while they’re alive.

Something which to me is rare. In that category, I put in the Native American Skinwalkers. And also the Penanggalan of the Philippines and Malay culture. Hags of this kind, the demonic kind, can be found in almost every culture. But the term also refers to positive Goddess or spirit beings as well.

So it’s important not to get it twisted. It’s important to know that this is a word that could be positive and negative. But in this case it was the negative. The demonic types of Hags are said to be the children of the Demoness, Lilith. Before she was the demon of Jewish lore, Lilith was a Sumerian Demon Goddess.

Tied to the storms and also to infant mortality. she was said to take the shape of an owl woman. I should make a post dedicated to her one of these days. But anyways, in Latin America, there are many such creatures like that. And sadly in this guy’s country, there are infestations of such beings.

As a former monotheistic Christian I used to think these were tall tales bred from superstition. But after I began to practice and learn from other people, I started to realize these were real modern accounts. Skin Walkers for example are a type of demon witch. That’s why many Native Americans have such a stigma about being called a “witch”. They associate it with unethical practitioners of magic.

Granted that’s largely due to European Christians drumming the idea that a “witch” was evil into their heads. Some more colonial brainwashing at work. Getting back to the topic, this guy said he didn’t believe in such things. He thought it was BS. So he goes into the cave to impress the girls.

Everyone in that little town he visited says that night Hags use that cave. These women shape shift into owls (again the connection to Lilith). They are so familiar in their owl forms that owls are seen as demonic animals in this country. Indigenous shape shifting witches like this exist all over Latin America. Once inside, they all smelled this godawful stench.

He said they had found these large brown paper bags that were bloody. Flies were everywhere and in some cases there were maggots protruding from these bags. These are probably sacrificed animals. They also found strange things he found hard to describe. And finally, he said they found a large Saint statue with its arms broken off.

I instantly got a flash in my mind from my spirits. And I learned that the statue had held some kind of dark spirit. In witchcraft, a popular method of exorcising a spirit, is to draw it out of a place or person and then send it into a vessel. Sometimes holy icons or idols are used. And sometimes when a dark entity enters an idol, the idol gets partially broken.

And even dark practitioners do exorcisms. For clients or sometimes even when they summon something or an entity goes out of line. And they have to trap them somewhere. Though I also think the statue was purposefully desecrated. So I ask him,

“Alvaro, by any chance did you get too close to that statue?”

Then he gets very quiet. Clears his throat and says,

“Well… I was young. And the girls thought it would be funny if I took a selfie with that statue,”

(Jesus Fucking Christ)

So it became apparent that the “phantom weight” wasn’t just whatever Sanchez had done to him. It was whatever he had absorbed from this statue. It had probably been haunting him for years before Sanchez. And he only began to notice it years later. I had my work cut out for me.

I had no idea where to start

So I decided to do a time honored tradition. I went to the dead. There’s a random roadside memorial where I used to live. Some guy whose name I will not mention here out of respect for his family. I became friends with him a few Halloween’s ago.

I didn’t have a cemetery close to me, so I decided to leave him offerings instead. I used to walk past his memorial on my way to a local mall. I left him a chocolate cupcake with a birthday candle that I blessed. I lit the candle and left it to him. Then I heard “Gracias”out loud. Now at first I jumped half way out of my skin, because I thought it was a living person who said that.

It didn’t sound psychic or telepathic. I realized then that this was a powerful spirit. I could tell he was loved. The memorial is filled with things including a cross made of plastic flowers. I turned around and said, “De nada amigo” (don’t mention it friend).

After that, I started visiting him a lot more regularly. Leaving him money in the form of pennies. So that he could buy things in the afterlife. I left him food and poured him libations, sometimes I left him Piedra de Alumbre (Stone of illumination). It’s not really a stone.

It’s this mineral thing we use in Santeria. It’s like a rock but it dissolves in water. The spirits of the dead eat it when we place it in sacred water vessels on their altars. In his case it would break into pieces until it became dust. I came to him for help.

I poured him a libation. Then I sat down with my cell turned off, pretending to be texting someone. I’m pretending that I am waiting for a car or something. He’s clearly amused by this and says,

“You must be really desperate to be making a long distance phone call like this,”

“Very funny,”

“What’s up?”

“Take a look and see for yourself,”

He enters my mind. And it feels like someone stuck a psychic USB drive in there. I can feel him looking into my memory I want him to see and hear the conversation for himself. Then he starts projecting images in my head and talks.

“This man here, Adonis, is a problem yes. But your client has other problems,”

He starts showing me all these shadow people and shadowy things all around him. It’s like a zoo of dark things. And he says,

“No offense, but you couldn’t find someone more trustworthy than this guy ? He’s even got a small portal inside his body. How much do you want to bet that he’s played with a Quija Board?,”

I was going to say that he didn’t seem like the type to own a Ouija board. But then again what do I know? I’ve never even seen this man before. We only talk via internet.

“What should I do?”

He stayed silent for a few moments then answered.

“Ask your new guide, the one you got from the Palero to deal with this. Ask him to bring an army of the dead to fight off what’s there and cleanse this guy. It’s not fancy, but it’s effective. And it will take care of this problem,”

I waited till there were almost no cars. And I buried 9 rusty pennies in the dirt near his memorial and said,

“I pay you (name redacted) in the name of Oya. Thank you for helping me. May this money given to you be an investment in your afterlife. May you never be poor. And instead always carry prosperity with you for all your needs,”

A random car came back and some lady saw me burying the coins and talking in the direction of the memorial. Fuck my life. All these nosy ass Karens in this area watching everything you do. It’s getting to the point that you can’t even fart or piss in a bush without one of them noticing. She was still staring while the car went away.

So I scratched my balls in front of her. The look of disgust was so funny that I busted out laughing. I could barely walk home from the laughter. I think most of the cars passing me by thought I was crazy or drunk. Well, I talk to dead people so maybe one of the two allegations was true.

I came home

Showered and ordered some take out. As I waited for the Chinese food to get to me, I decided to give a primary offering to Hestia. In Greek Polytheism she is the Goddess of Hearthe and Home. I also included in this offering Elegua Agbanukue, the Household version of Elegua. Who is also a God that watches the home and protects it.

I started naming the various Household Gods one by one. And the spirits that protect the home as well. I poured some olive oil in their honor. Then I sat back on the couch and rested my eyes for bit. I realized I should probably talk to my Palo guide. I got up and sat in my red chair.

I took his idol out of the Altar I have for native spirits. Even though he is a guide connected to Palo Mayombe, he’s the spirit of a dead indigenous man. I made eye contact with the idol and said,

“Hey friend, do you have some time to talk?”

I could feel him talking to me. This is a very different kind of spirit. Paleros use advanced spirits. Even their ghosts are stronger than the normal ones. He spoke not as a voice, but as feelings.

He was asking why I took so long to call on him. He was basically scolding me and telling me he was here to help. If only I would accept such help.

“Fair enough,” I replied. “I’m asking now,”

I could have done the psychic usb thing but I was tired. And when I get tired, images and information is fuzzy. So I took the time to speak to him the old fashioned way. Anyone watching me talk to this statue in my hand would have thought I was crazy. But the spirit within that vessel is very real.

He told me he had “brothers and sisters“ he could call on. That in Palo they were all one. And they would work together to help me. I bowed down my head, kissed his statue and said,

“Bless you sentinel of the home,”

Then I placed a bottle of whiskey on the altar next to him.

“I offer this to you and your Kin. It will be poured down at the crossroads when you defeat the enemy,”

After this was done, the delivery lady showed up. My family and I ate good food. Discussed our day (well I left our certain portions for obvious reason). And I hunkered down for the night. I sent Alvaro a message via the signal app.

We coordinated how we were going to handle this. We agreed upon a day, and off to work we went.

From left to right, Taino women representing the indigenous ancestors, center is an Adjule or African wild dog who is often seen as a phantom animal, and finally from Palo Mayonbe is Sarabanda, the great God of Smithery and Magic.

The final operation

I opted for sunset on a Friday. In many religions, there are times that belong to the dead. And all of those times as far as I have discovered, are at or around night time. In Santeria, the time of the dead is at Sunset. Nobody does readings at that time.

Or at least they’re not supposed to. Some Santeros I have met are so nyctophobic they wouldn’t even do Rosary prayers at night for a deceased soul. They believe Satan and his demons are all out around that time. I am one of the few Santeros who are not afraid. I had training in other religions prior to Santeria.

We did night time rituals and we learned not to fear the night. It is true that there are negative forces unleashed at night. But there are also positive forces. I learned about an exorcism ritual done by the Babalawos (priesthood of Orula) that was done for people who had spiritual attachments. It was called the Paraldo Ceremony.

The Babalawos did it at sunset. Because the Eggun (ghosts) or even demons would start coming out. The reason for this is because the spirit would be fully formed and out in the open. It would be easier to cast the entity out. But I wasn’t using that ceremony.

For one, because I’m not a Babalawo. Doing ceremonies without proper knowledge and authority is just asking for trouble. And two because I refuse to murder animals. No I am not a vegan. No I am not some kind of heretic.

But I’m one of many Santeros who won’t sacrifice animals. And that ceremony requires grabbing a rooster by its feet and smashing the head on the floor. This is for the evil to be bound to its body. If the poor creature is lucky it will die instantly. I don’t do animal sacrifices.

I know Pagans who still do them. And I don’t stick my nose into their religious practices. But I tell everyone no matter the tradition that I will not. But one thing that I did take from that ceremony, is using the sunset. I waited till that time to do this.

The enemy spirits will be fully formed at that time. But they won’t be that strong. The strongest time for the dead is actually from midnight until 2am, and dark spirits at either midnight or 3am. I have a good understanding of their power levels at various times.

At sunset they’re just waking up from a long sleep. It’s not the same level of lucidity and power as at other hours. This gives me the secondary advantage that after they fully emerge, they’ll still be dazed and confused. Demons and other wicked spirits don’t necessarily sleep during the day. But at night their powers are far stronger.

Which is why if I have to go out at night I carry amulets. And I shield to make sure no matter where I go, there’s nothing to follow me home. But at sunset they’re still just charging up. But they can’t hide nor will they try. They’re usually too overconfident for that.

And that’s what I was counting on.

I did a special ritual of protection. Necromancy with the ancestors. I can’t talk about the specifics or the name of the ceremony. But it kept me safe. I was surrounded by the protective energy.

And I brought out my Palo guide and asked for his help. Then I did a protective shielding prior to calling Alvaro. I did a few Hail Marys and Our Fathers. As well as some more ancient prayers for protection. Then I called him via the Signal App.

He was way too calm. People are normally ready to be done with this. He acted like this was just another transaction. Like shaking a hand or taking a piss. Yeah I really don’t like this guy.

I just wanted this shit to be over and done with. So we waited until sunset came. And suddenly there was a shift in the ether. I felt something on the other side of the phone with him. And I know he felt it too.

Though he seemed to enjoy playing dumb. I took a picture of the idol of my Palo guide. Then sent it to him via signal.

“This is one of my guides. Stare into the eyes of the idol and invite him to come to you,”

I got the distinct feeling he thought I was quemado. How do I say it? Burned out. He probably thought I was some kind of crazy new ager. But idol magic goes back centuries. My priest in the Hellenic Temple I attend, even told me about a form of idol divination.

I have seen people do remote magic or long distance magic with nothing but psychic abilities. What I do, is use the craft to remotely send out energy and spirits. It’s a more powerful way to do it. But Mr. Know it all didn’t know that. So he was surprised when he felt my spirit appear before him.

“I feel something in the room with me. I never felt a spirit like this before. I feel my third eye vibrating,”

He admitted that he knew enough about spirits to sense them. And to perceive them via the third eye. I wondered if he and Adonis had studied together at one point. Maybe they had once been part of a magic group. He didn’t even bother trying to hide it.

He probably surmised that I knew him by now. I asked him to connect with my spirit’s energy. I showed him how to do it. And then a massive explosion of energy occurred.

We both felt it. I felt forces coming from the four directions all over his country converging there, at his home. An army of ghosts. Indigenous warriors from his land. Spaniards.

And also slaves, particularly slaves who I think were Congolese. Even recently deceased people had joined in, an entire force of ghosts had now appeared. And these dark spirits around him were trying to fight back. He started talking about strange sensations.

“I feel weird,”

“In what way?”

“I feel an onset of relief, as if a heavy presence was released from me. And then that presence returns. It’s as if the relief is fighting the heaviness,”

What he was feeling was the dark spirit (heavy presence) being fought by the light spirits that were now there. I was seeing their energies combating each other. At first I couldn’t distinguish human features. They had gone to their purest form as energy.

The dark spirits were the smallest groups there. They appeared as balls of deep shadow. But the spheres of light numbered in the hundreds. And each had different colors depending on the energy they were using. Some were red, and I think those were soldiers or warriors. Others were yellow, and those were spirits who died of diseases.

The disease ghosts were absorbing all the dark energy that was in that house. Like a self eating cancer. I had been trained by a Wiccan teacher that dark spirits or dark energies could be put towards positive uses.

Now I was seeing in greater detail what darker energies, when put to a positive use could do. And these fallen spirits around Alvaro were dumbfounded. They had no idea how to fight back against them. They were outnumbered and out gunned. I was trying to keep my excitement down.

Overconfidence was a killer. As I had intended, they fully emerged with the dark. But they were still too weak to use their native element against us. With one final push, Alvaro described the heaviness forced from him for good. The relief stayed this time.

I did see a few spiritual doors close. He did have a small one on him that resembled a Quija board doorway. But that paled in comparison to all these larger doors in his home. In my mind’s eye I was seeing these beach ball sized vortexes floating in the air. I was going to ask him some more questions when my Palo guide spoke again.

Through empathy, he told me that other spirits were there too. Good spirits and a few neutral ones. Dead souls as well as nature spirits. They all occupied the same space. His property has become a free for all.

He did some kind of fancy ritual that he couldn’t control. And this had been the result. He had played with forces beyond his control. The haunted location he told me about and absorbing that spirit was just the beginning. And my guide also told me to not bother confronting him.

He had an answer for everything. It wasn’t my business anyway. Instead I told him that these other spirits I sent had to stay for the night. They would spend the twilight hours until dawn fixing everything. Crossing over spirits and dismissing others properly. The guide I sent also closed the doorway he had in his own body.

The other spirits closed all the other doorways. I told him to check his email. I sent him a list of instructions. I taught him a few cleansings and rituals. And finally I told him to get his property blessed by a priest after he had done these things.

By the time it was done, he had reported that not a single paranormal event had taken place in his home since all this had happened. All was well. That was the good news. The bad news is that Richie Rich skipped out on the bill. He claimed he couldn’t pay for my services because the times had gone hard and blah blah blah.

I was so pissed that before I lost control I told him that I had to call him back. Later I had a friend communicate with him that he had agreed to pay for services. And I had been more than generous with him. But he never contacted me again. All of my friends had told me to send all that shit back to him as payback.

But after all the trouble I took to remove it, sending it back just seemed like a waste. Instead I did a prayer ritual with the Gods and explained what had happened. They scolded me and told me I should have known better. But after they were done, they said they would handle it. I don’t know how they handled it.

I just know they never punish the innocent. So ,whatever they did or didn’t do, it would be just not unjust. I did end up getting something in return though. A bunch of obstacles and problems in my life left after the ritual was done. The Gods told me it was payment for services rendered.

The whole event left me tapped out. And I have spent the better part of this month trying to recharge and regenerate. That’s why it has taken me this long to write this.

I’ve had to slow down a bunch of things. And I’ve been taking long naps. Falling asleep near 7pm or 8pm like an old fart. I hope all of you will please excuse me as it’s going to be a while. I won’t be able to do a solid reading or work for anyone until I’ve regained my lost energy.

I apologize for taking so long to do that. One thing is for sure, I re-learned my lesson. Rich people suck. Unless I have a lawyer who compel them to pay up in advance, I’m not helping another wealthy person. I have better things to do than to deal with them or their demons.

Fuck them all. Just do yourselves a favor alright? Stay the fuck away from rituals you don’t understand. And don’t go to haunted locations for the fuck of it. That’s a stupid thing to do.

Tales from the Continent : The Businessman Pt 1

It’s been a while since I spoke to all of you on here. That’s because over the course of these last two months, I’ve been busy as hell. So here’s the gist of it. Figured I’d regale you with my experience. This one was an extreme one, even for me.

And it happens to fall into my Tales from the Continent series. Now because of the sheer number of things that happened in two months, I needed to divide this post into two parts. Anyone who knows me, knows that like most stereotypical mages, I’m a walking encyclopedia. I can’t help having in-depth conversations about stuff. From history and politics, to ancient cultures and my favorite subject…Food.

It’s why I have all this beautiful whale blubber in real life. Sure I could hide that and pretend I look like the guy in that picture up there. But it would all be Bullshit. And to make it worse, I’m Cuban. We talk a lot of shit.

It’s in our very DNA. That’s why at night we have trouble sleeping if we’re sharing rooms. We’ll keep you up all night with conversations. Unless we’re doing something else. In which case the only conversations we’ll be having is when we climax and speak in tongues.

Whenever I find something interesting on a website or YouTube I talk at length about it. Especially paranormal related videos. I do this in English and in Spanish. And there is a long ass comment on a video called “33 Velas” (33 Candles) that a Spanish para channel called Relatos de la Noche (Tales of the Night) or simply RDLN posted years ago. I posted my explanation of the ritual in the account.

Why the candles were used and why messing with them, removed the protection. Apparently a lot of people enjoyed my comment. Some were offended and told me witchcraft is “evil”. But most started seeking advice. So I got a lot of people asking for my email.

I provided my consultation email and I began to receive a lot of messages from people which I shared with you on here. Hence why I call these stories Tales from the Continent. Because these are stories from people who watch RDLN and they come from the Americas. It’s an homage to them. I used to think I had already gotten the strangest cases from Latin America already.

Turns out I was wrong. Because a businessman who used to work in a government position reached out to me. It was one of the strangest cases I have ever taken on. I’m translating it from the original Spanish. I won’t mention the country because since he had a government position it just bothers me.

He didn’t tell me anything too secret or it wouldn’t even be on my blog. But all names are changed and locations have been removed.

I’d been up all night,

I was busy helping a few of the people from that video comment. And I was exhausted. They all had minor hauntings or some weak hexes. I hadn’t realized just how much more prevalent this stuff is in South and Central America. Everyone and their grandma throws spells at each other.

And for some of the dumbest shit you could imagine. One guy actually got his car bewitched with cemetery dirt because of the way he parked his car. Granted, the man parks like an ass. I’d be pissed too if some idiot parked his car like Rambo and took half of someone else’s parking spot. But leaving a skull candle to burn on the hood of the car with what I can only imagine was cemetery dirt around his car is pretty fucking bad.

I had thought that it was a rival or some enemy. Instead, when I cast the bones, the spirits said he was hexed because his neighbors think he’s an asshole. I thought he was lying at first when he said he had no enemies. Instead I realized that no one has ever told him they find him annoying. And I had to find a way to gently break it to him.

Yeah, that went as well as you can expect. But luckily I had help from the spirits to explain it to him.

The bones said he had some kind of condition. Like a personality disorder that made it hard for him to click with people. Having some issues of my own I can relate. I managed to get him to understand . We got the hex off his car,

And he made a cake for his neighbors to show them his friendly side. I actually felt bad that I was impatient with him. I realized I was acting like an asshole because growing up with my own disabilities, people treated me differently too. Add to that, that I could see things as a child. I had a very lonely childhood and people treated me like shit.

So I learned to be sarcastic and to chew someone out real quick. We’ve become friends. And my cleansing helped change his luck. I’m also happy to report that my pointers and those of my spirits helped him become more social. Trying to get him into therapy next.

A good old fashioned support group goes a long way. I now count him as one of my good friends. So I was trying to sleep the next day because I was drained. And I have the bad habit of being a workaholic. As I was laying in bed to sleep the day away, I decided to check my work email.

The one I use for paranormal consultations. And this new email had been sent to me five minutes before. I was bored and figured I would read it and then answer later. This was the email he sent.

“My name is Alvaro and I found your email by reading some comments you made on a YouTube video. The one of the 33 candles of Relatos de la Noche channel. In which I found an interesting addition to the video, your comment. I liked the way you shared your knowledge and gave people your confidence, and your opinion. Among the comments you made, you pointed to a person that sometimes a sudden loss of luck and a lack of energy could be indicators that something was not quite right.

It is thus and for the same reasons that I contact you so that you guide me to know if those issues that I feel I have in my life are of a supernatural nature. Particularly in my professional life. I have suffered from a significant decrease in my income. And I wonder if this is due to some negative energy or simply due to all the changes that have been generated by the pandemic since last year. Which has led to a significant decrease in work for everyone. In advance I appreciate the attention you give to this email and awaiting your valuable response.

Alvaro,”

I honestly didn’t think this was anything out of the ordinary at first. In the Paranormal, we are trained to be skeptical. But being a witch I am trained to not judge a book by its over. What seems normal and mundane could turn out to be supernatural. Also there was something about his demeanor.

Analyzing him is what made me step back to re-evaluate him. His Spanish didn’t have any slang to it like most modern speakers. In fact he spoke so proper that even the English translation sounds proper. People who speak like that tend to be of the upper crust of their societies. Latin America still has a reigning elite that goes back centuries from the Spanish aristocrats to the land owners.

A lot of countries are like that. I have met wealthy people who are nouveau riche (new rich). They still talk like regular people. The stick hasn’t yet been firmly planted up their anal regions yet. He talks like he’s always had money, or had access to some fancy school.

I’ve had a few run ins with the wealthy before. This tells me two things. One, he’s probably not someone with an open mind. In fact I’d say that he must have had a fairly conservative education. So ideas about the occult or supernatural would be seen as silly.

He’s already tried to debunk his own paranormal experiences. He’s probably still trying to debunk himself. He may even be chastising himself for contacting a random “witch doctor” off YouTube. So he isn’t some overly superstitious person given to fantastical thinking. He’s probably even borderline atheist or at least agnostic.

Which leads to two. Something convinced him to consider the paranormal as being real. Something that’s serious enough that his logical mind can’t account for it. His explanations are falling flat on their face, before actual, tangible evidence. I stood up in my bed debating whether or not I should wait to email him.

My body said,

“Dude, go the fuck to sleep already,”

But my mind said,

“mYsTeRy”

So guess which one I listened to? I decided to email him back my opinions, still partially skeptical. And explaining that his loss of luck could be anything. That the world economy was fried. And that bad luck was already in the air due to the Mercury retrograde and the sign of Otura Oyeku which brought bad luck during this season. I’ll save you the long winded explanation.

But I even sent him links and offered to double check with the Gods anyway. I’m finally ready for bed. Because the long ass email with its detailed analysis made me more tired. Then not five fucking minutes passes by when I hear that familiar bing on my phone. No way I said to myself.

No way this guy read all of that and was able to reply so quickly. There must have been five paragraphs in my email. That’s two pages and a half. Only a sociopath reads and understands that fast. So I check thinking no way.

(Fuck me, it is him).

“Dear M,

First of all I want to thank you for the prompt response you gave to my previous email. In relation to the question you ask me about whether I have noticed something strange. I comment that the only thing that has me a little intrigued and uneasy about it is what I will tell you next. Last year I received a proposition to occupy a administrative position in my government that was coveted by a person. His name is Adonis Sanchez (he was named after another Greek God. I just changed the name).

Who did everything possible to get the person who tried to hire me fired. I only held the job in question for barely 15 days. After just 15 days they asked for my resignation. The job that I had and that I am telling you about was in a government office in the Republic of (omitted). Which was plagued with problems and many conflicts, I could even say envy.

I had to watch my back at all times. Many people tried “to trip me,” so that any blame for any problem would fall to me. They did this to preserve their own careers. But for me to get all the blame. Despite all the complicated work, I had the collaboration and support of certain people.

Those who worked in the office who allowed me to solve some of the tasks entrusted to me that seemed impossible to do. Until I accomplished these tasks. It gave me a lot of support and praise. Which was a double edged sword as you might imagine. For although my management was brief, it was very intense because during that period there were particular circumstances in which Adonis and other people were involved.

So the person who was my boss by hierarchy ordered me to report them pointing out the irregularities that they had committed in their job. Since these people also exerted pressure on others with gunmen, despite the fact that this is illegal. Which is why my then boss confessed to me that he feared for his life. So he asked me to make the complaint on the irregularities for him. Even though he had security of his own, he feared Adonis.

The complaint I made led Adonis and his own supporters to request my resignation at a very high level. Which they achieved, but I also learned that Adonis did not manage to get the same administrative position I left behind. Eventually he was pressured to leave the government because his own actions had finally angered enough people to expel him. Even then my departure felt like a relief for many reasons. Since I stopped feeling all that pressure and negativity from the people there.

It allowed me to accompany my wife at the delivery of our first child. With whom I have been throughout this pandemic (which could not have been if I had continued working). In addition to the fact that my departure occurred before one of the most complicated stages of the pandemic began where I live. I do not overlook that there is resentment on the part of Adonis towards me. I comment on the latter, because when it was my birthday, among all the messages I received, there was one from Adonis on my Facebook account.

(He wouldn’t tell me the details of what was said. I got the impression that perhaps there were threats).

When I finished reading, I looked up at a lamp. It’s glass screen inexplicably burst. At such a strange coincidence I blocked him from my contacts on that social network. I had believed that perhaps he hacked me. Maybe a hacker could use some sophisticated form of tech to do that.

But I knew I was fooling myself. I know technology well. No hacker could cause something like that with a few keystrokes. And this was a regular lamp not another computer. What could he have done from a computer to cause that from happening? Somehow I knew it had been him.

What caused it I still don’t know. I eventually convinced myself the event with the screen was a coincidence. Although I still have doubt as I tell you. Sometimes I feel very tired and sometimes without strength, it takes a lot more energy to do my job than usual. Despite this, I can tell you to this day I have not lacked money.

Since I have enough to meet the expenses of the house. I have to buy food and enough to cover the debts, which makes me feel blessed and not feel helpless. It is difficult to have that feeling of uncertainty and feel tense month after month not knowing if I will have enough. Especially for my wife and my baby. I really appreciate your help and the time you have dedicated to me.

As you say, possibly all this that I have told you is only due to the bad times that all of us are experiencing. So I will review the information you shared with me. When you have the opportunity, review my case. If you notice that it is nothing extraordinary, in advance I will appreciate the guidance. And light that you can provide me in these complicated and dark times that everyone is going through.

– Alvaro ,”

“Fuck,” I said to myself. I knew I wasn’t going to get any sleep.

A few hours later,

I was getting the specifics of everything from this man. I also asked him to use the signal app. It’s better than WhatsApp. WhatsApp is owned by Facebook now, so the previously private data is probably going to them. Signal was recommended to me by a friend who is always on top of tech privacy.

We began texting back and forth there. I was concerned that Adonis might be surveilling this guy. I didn’t want to find out if this prick could hop on a plane and come after me for helping his enemy. He assured me that he had his house swept for bugs once a week. And he had the means to make sure he was protected.

Alvaro seemed harmless enough. For a guy who knows to have his house swept for bugs. And even though he has “financial problems” he’s got the means to protect himself from someone as dangerous as Adonis Sanchez. I wondered if I should even be helping him. How do I know his story is true and he isn’t the one gunning for Adonis? I’ve had that happen before in the past.

I’ve had clients trick me into thinking they were the victims at first. I refused to be somebody’s pawn again. Instead, I was doing a divination the next few days to see who he was. And I was right. He wasn’t the pure dove he claimed to be.

However, this Adonis guy was way worse than I expected. The spirits I talked to said that Alvaro had understated just how dangerous and messed up Adonis was. I could see an image of someone of mixed indigenous and white ancestry like Alvaro. And he had an aura as black as a void in space. Nothing on Earth is supposed to have an aura like that.

He was frustrated he couldn’t kill off Alvaro. And he did have magic. Lots of magic. Western Hermitic magic I think. Through the divination I felt that Alvaro had a security team keeping tabs on Adonis.

I also felt there was far more to the story then he was letting on. So I tactfully asked him if there were other details I could use for the divination. He emailed me a short background for him and Adonis. A sort of origin story.

“Esteemed M

In response to your questions, I will tell you that I held the government position a year ago. I have not had contact in that area of government until then. I began to carry out my profession in the private sector so as not to be near those people. I am only involved in my local government; so I consider that I can speak freely with you on this subject. Regarding this man, Adonis, I can tell you that I met him many years ago around 2004 and 2005, as we were internship companions in an office while we were studying at the university.

At that time he was a very happy man. A very different sort to whom he is now. He was involved in a car accident due to drunk driving. He collided with a tree and his companion, his best friend, died. For this, he was imprisoned for a time until he managed to get out of prison.

I knew that event transformed him. And his time behind bars also transformed him into someone I no longer knew. I stopped having contact with him since then. Until we met again last year, during the job I told you about. I really appreciate the attention you give when reading my messages and I am attentive to anything you may need.

Sincerely,

Alvaro,”

His story didn’t add up. From what he told me, there was zero reason for this guy to be angry with him. And yet reading the story and reading the energy of the past, I could feel so much anger. It had boiled over time into a primal rage. Like Adonis wanted to tear Alvaro apart limb from limb.

He wasn’t telling me everything and probably never would. But whatever. It’s not my battle. If these two want to wipe each other out and then duke it out in the afterlife, that’s their problem. At this point, I’m only interested in two things.

One is getting paid good money. And the other is ensuring that innocent people don’t get caught in the crossfire. I began to have vague impressions about Adonis learning Hermeticism in prison. Someone opened Adonis up to that world. Showed him how to use magic.

And it served him well. Because it opened doors for him in business and in government. You’d think somebody with a record for killing someone while drunk driving would have a hard time getting a position anywhere. So how did he get such a lofty position? I also suspected he learned a lot about the world in there. Kill or be killed.

And something else too. Adonis’ magic should have caused Alvaro’s finances to go to the toilet. Even to cause health problems. So I started asking myself if Alvaro also practices . Or if he just had immunity from magic in his bloodline.

Some people have strong bloodlines from witch ancestors. And those ancestors watch out for them. Make them partially immune to sorcery. Or to bad luck in general. People who seem to have “the golden touch” and can make anything prosper.

A man with the level of magic that I sensed Adonis had, should have been able to take Alvaro out with sorcery. I also saw that Alvaro had spiritual portals all over the place. And lots of dark clouds in the spiritual world around his home. He’d purposely kept all of this out of his emails to me. So what else had he lied about?

I was going to find out.

Tales from the Continent : It came with the Storm (An Account of Hurricane Eta)

Storms can bring with them, more than just rain

So I came across this by accident. And I thought it would make an interesting edition to my Tales From the Continent Series. This actually is not any case I worked on. This is a paranormal encounter that a group of people from Honduras suffered. It happened while on their roof tops when they were surviving the aftermath of Hurricane Eta.

It’s a strange tale of an entity they claim appeared with the storm. And it tried to hunt them while they were stranded on their rooftops. Not only does it pertain to current events, but it’s also an extreme encounter with the supernatural. Which has me stumped. And it’s related to the continent.

Which makes it perfect for this series. The account was submitted to one of my favorite paranormal channels from Latin America called “Relatos de la Noche” (Tales of the Night). They don’t accept creepypastas or any other form of fiction. Their channel is well researched because they are amateur paranormal researchers. And they strive for real accounts in their channel.

No matter how unbelievable these stories may seem. This was just one of many stories under the heading of “The Being Who Came with the Storm”. It was story one. And happened not too long ago. The video itself was uploaded on November 12th.

The following account I translate comes from Daniel Cano of the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Some of the wording I changed in the translation because it wouldn’t make sense in English.

“I don’t know if anyone will believe this account. But either way I wish to share it with you. I am from Honduras. I live in the city of San Pedro Sula. I imagine all of you know by now what’s been happening in my country, and in Nicaragua and Guatemala.

With the arrival of the storm Eta, we were hit hard. Particularly our colony because we live in low areas. And the waters rose all the way to our roofs. And we were forced to spend nights a top the ones that were not underwater. The plans of the government against the storm were inefficient.

I had the fortune of getting my family out in time. But when I returned to the house to try and get a few things, the waters surrounded us in a manner of moments. It was already terrifying being in this situation. A situation that was so dangerous, where our lives were in danger. But when we were there on the roof, my neighbors and I had a terrifying encounter.

One that is hard to explain. The second night we were there we were very tired. And we had no drinkable water and very little food. We preferred to give what little we had to the children and the elderly. That night in particular it was very dark.

There was no electricity in the area. It had stopped raining, but the clouds above us seemed to be hunting us. I think it was close to 2am when from afar, we suddenly heard a strange agonizing scream. Many people screamed on the first day, but at night it was always quiet. We would only hear the sound of the waters moving.

Hitting the roofs. Then suddenly from the left side of us, we had seen a figure. A tall figure standing on the highest point of an electrical pole. At first we thought this was a case of someone so afraid that he must have gotten to the top out of fear to escape the storm. But we soon came to the realization that we had never seen him during the day.

This thing had just appeared. It was very tall. It was probably more than two meters (bigger than 5’11 in height). We just stood there watching him carefully when this being leaped on top of one of the abandoned roofs. But to our surprise it made no sound. It landed in an abnormal way.

In slow motion, like those videos of astronauts walking on the Moon. We were all shocked. The women began to cry and shout that it was death. That Death itself was coming for us. This thing was only five houses away from where we were.

Later it started to run across the roof tops only to stop at two houses from where we were from the other side of the street. And it just stood there watching us. It truly was tall and skinny. And it’s clothing was as dark as it’s skin. And there was this weird noise (that emitted from it).

An incessant vibration like a cellphone vibrating on a wooden table. None of us could believe what we were seeing. And by that time, our phones had already lost their charge. So we could not photograph or video tape it. The women began to cry and hug their children.

And all we could do was to threaten and shout at it to stay away. And then suddenly it leaped down to the waters and began walking toward us. Slowly but without delay. Suddenly, one of the  men from the roofs recited the “Our Father” and cast something shiny into the water. It was a cross he always wore around his neck.

And the entity suddenly sunk beneath the water and did not resurface. Later we learned from him that it was a cross his mother had once given him. And that it was a blessed cross. The next day, we were finally rescued by the Firemen. But this was the most terrifying experience we had ever had,”

And given the fact that they had just survived a hurricane and a flood, that’s saying a lot. So, what was this mysterious creature? Honestly I don’t have a clue. I haven’t had occasion to check the folklore of Honduras to see if there’s a corresponding creature somewhere. What I do believe is that it may have been an entity from another realm. A malevolent transdimensional.

Here’s what most people don’t know. What I had to learn the hard way : Storms naturally bring in spirits with them. Some good and some bad. Most of the time they just bring nature spirits to refresh the land. It’s a natural (spiritual) part of the eco system.

But Hurricanes and Tornados and really destructive natural phenomenon unleash equally destructive beings. Angry and lost souls of the dead. Entities from other dimensions, sometimes even demonic spirits. Here in Florida when Hurricane season comes, we tend to see strange activity in certain places. I remember when Hurricane Maria hit, I felt like the storm left a wave of negativity everywhere.

Almost like a disease. Even the animals acted strangely. And these are animals that are used to these kinds of storms. But they acted as if they were hiding from another creature. From a far worse predator than normally known.

And they were frightened. Some actually hid inside bags of things I was sealing up. Frogs and even doves hid in people’s houses. The Santeros in the community were doing magic to protect ourselves as an added measure. And we all had feelings as if the spirits around us were screaming at once with one voice.

After Maria, I have always prepared spiritually as well as physically. It’s not enough to simply board up your house. Or to have a large food supply. Or even arms in case a wild animal or crazed person comes in. It’s also necessary to protect yourself spiritually.

With blessed charms and other holy things. What this man in the story did was smart. Tossing that blessed cross into the water was probably what saved those people from certain death. There’s a lot of strange cases of people who vanish and no trace is ever found of them. Such things have become known as the Missing 411 phenomenon.

And because this was a hurricane, no one would ever have assumed anything other than a storm took them. My theory is this is a creature from the forests or even the water ways in Honduras. The storm allowed it to enter the cities and towns. It gave it permission to be able to explore areas it normally wouldn’t enter.

It also provided a cover for it. With all the destruction around, it probably didn’t need much to hide it anyway. But what was it? Did it even come from our world? Or even our spirit world? Or did it come from another spirit world? One parallel to the realm of spirits known to us. That may sound crazy, but the realm of spirit is a vast Multiverse bigger than our own. Or this creature may even have been a Revenant.

But what type of Revenant or deceased entity was it? Was it even physical? How else did it make no noise and was able to seemingly defy the laws of physics? Or was it a Revenant capable of being able to manipulate reality itself. Or simply make itself float? Who knows. I tried doing a little research into it. But the only water entity that stalks people in Honduras is La Sucia. which is similar the Honduran version of La Llorona.

This seems to be a completely warped entity. There are some who claim that some storms are cosmic and can bend reality. That sometimes, the veil becomes so thin that things can slip out of their reality and into ours. And vice versa. So in the end, who knows really, what this creature was.
